Signs of God’s re-creation are all around us.  Flowers are in bloom.  Birds are singing.  Brown grass has turned green.  Trees are covered in blossoms and signs of new life begin to appear.  All of creation is reflecting life after death.  God brings dead things back to life.  We are so blessed to be Easter people.  We can celebrate the glory and wonder of resurrection.  Just as God raised Jesus from the dead, God gives life to our mortal bodies and offers us hope beyond the grave.  Each and every Sunday at the Cito United Methodist Church is a mini-Easter.  We gather on the first day of the week to celebrate resurrection.  We crucify our old sinful selves and become new creations through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I am still in my first year as pastor of the Cito Church.  Many transitions have taken place within this year and God has been faithful.  God is always calling us to change so that we are molded into the image of His Son.  Please come and worship with us so that we can celebrate new life and be transformed into the image of our Lord and Savior!

The following are my personal goals in regard to what the church should be.  I use the acronym PLACE.

P Prayer Permeates our Ministry.  All that takes place needs to be bathed in prayer.  A church’s vitality is only as powerful as the prayers of its people!

L Love for the Lost.  Pre-Christian un-churched people matter to God.  Jesus has entrusted his people to be his arms reaching out to a hurting world.  Our church’s heart must beat with an evangelistic fervor–just as God’s heart beats for those who do not know Him personally.

A Active Disciples.  All of us are called to serve God.  We cannot be content being couch potato Christians who warm a pew on Sunday mornings and walk far from God during the rest of the week.  We all need to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.  Disciples are to use their spiritual gifts to serve Christ and one another.

C Christ-Centered Community.  Christians should be known for the love they have for one another and their connectedness.  In this day of selfishness and isolationism, the Church is to be the place where individuals discover a true sense of belonging and solidarity as followers of Christ.  This comes about through small group ministries, training in discipleship, and experiencing life together.

E Experiencing God in Energized Worship.  Worship is an incredible opportunity to experience God in all of His divine glory and splendor.  It is a sin for worship to be boring!  We are blessed to experience God as a corporate body.

If you don’t have a church home, consider making Cito United Methodist Church your PLACE of worship and connection.  Come and grow with us!
