A New Way to Give – Open Your Heart
Without Opening Your Checkbook
Our church is embracing technology and adopting a giving option that may
become more convenient for many of our parishioners – the Electronic Funds
Transfer (EFT) Program. The program will begin in December, and will work in
the same manner as programs offered by local phone, electric, insurance, and
mortgage companies, just to name a few.
You choose a donation frequency, either monthly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly
(twice per month). Indicate the amount of the contribution for each of the
fund(s) you wish to support – the General Fund (where money put in the
offering plate that is not designated otherwise goes, for ministry expense,
salaries, operating expense, etc.), the Trustee Fund (for building
maintenance, repairs, small projects), the New Church Building Fund (to pay
down our mortgage), or the Basement Fund (to complete the lower level of the
church building). Then, complete the reminder of the Authorization Form,
mail it to the church office, attention Financial Secretary (Leah Beck), or
drop it in the offering plate and we will arrange for your checking or
savings account to be debited as you selected.
Important Benefits of EFT
The Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Program yields very significant benefits
for our church and makes life easier for you:
• The satisfaction of giving to God first. With EFT, you can plan your
giving through prayer and discernment – not reacting to what you remember to
bring with you on a Sunday morning.
• Less work for church volunteers in processing the collections. Reduces
cash to count, checks to stamp for deposit, and ensures your contribution
goes to the fund you intended.
• A more predictable income flow and cash management for better planning for
the church.
• Easier personal budgeting. You can plan your tithe just like you would any
other recurring transaction.
• More secure than checks. Nothing to get lost in the mail, missed in a
deposit, or delayed in processing.
• You gain the satisfaction of knowing your tithe will benefit the church
while you travel, are ill, bad weather strikes, or your are otherwise unable
to attend.
• All transactions are recorded on your bank statement for easy
reconciliation and verification.
• IT COSTS YOUR NOTHING!! No checks, stamps, envelopes, etc to pay for!
Traditional Choices Remain
All registered parishioners in the EFT program will continue to receive
envelopes, including envelopes for special collections, unless you tell us
otherwise. The morning offering will continue to be taken each week as
usual. EFT participants are asked to mark your envelope(s) “EFT” and place
them in the collection plate. If you don’t use envelopes, please ask the
Financial Secretary for some “I Give Electronically” cards you may place in
the collection plate. This way, you can maintain the physical act of giving
during the worship service that is emotionally and spiritually important.
If you do not currently use envelopes, please consider participating in
either our traditional envelope program or the EFT program. Our church needs
your consistent support to accomplish the many ministries and events God is
calling us to do.
An authorization form is attached for you to complete if you are interested
in the program. Copies will also be available in the Narthex, from the
Financial Secretary, or from the link above.
